The kingdom of chamois

Hiking on Mount Amaro,
close encounter with the “rupicapra ornata”.

This hike consists in the ascent of Mount Amaro (“Bitter Mount”), where you can meet the herd of chamois that, together with that of the valley of roses, has first settled in the Park.

A discreet and stealthy approach, which does not disturb the animals but instead stimulates their curiosity, will allow you to admire the agility of these noble animals, and to shoot unique pictures.

From the top of Mount Amaro (1930 meters s.l.m.), the view spans 360 degrees on a breathtaking panorama that goes from Mount Marsicano to Val Fondillo and the cliffs of Camosciara.

The climb takes about 3 hours. Access to Mount Amaro is limited and requires the assistance of a qualified guide. Booking of the excursion is thus mandatory.
